How 2 Loan Officers helped make our week & build our business, not by making loans.

Our Reston Virginia Keller Williams Office is blessed to have two very strong Mortgage companies and loan officers affiliated with our office.  They have been with the office for going on 6 months and the energy and expertise that they bring to our office and The Earl of Real Estate Team and our clients is second to none.  Over the past 10 days, both of these lenders have done things, taken actions that truly set them apart.

Before I tell you what they did, let me give you some background.  As a member of our market center ALC, I had the privilege of being a part of the interviews to select our new lending partners in 2009.  We interviewed a number of large and small companies and always had it set in our mind to go with 2 companies that could support and grow with our office.  I had my initial concerns about having 2, thinking that we might not have enough business to go around, but we have, as a team worked to make sure that our clients had the opportunity to work with and interview both loan officers so that they - the customer - could make the decision as to who to work with.  For our team and our clients, it has been great.

Besides doing loans, these companies are taking an active role to support our team and our business...Now on to what they did.

The first example was a small gesture by Hal Johnson of Embrace Home Loans.  Hal printed and copied at his own expense a number of CD's that are from a subscription of an interview series.  He distributed these to the office at a team meeting.  A past interview was with Gary Keller talking about the Shift book and it was a good, solid interview...BUT, this past CD was a gem. It was an interview with a top agent that was sharing how - exactly how - they got over 500 inbound referrals last year and closed over 200 transactions.  So, here is a Loan Officer not just asking for my business or just sending me a hokie newsletter, He was actually trying to help our team to do more business and showing us how to sell homes in Northern Virginia.

You read correctly, He was not just gimme, gimme, gimme - HE GAVE.  What a great example of a Win-Win set up and relationship.  On Behalf of our office and The Earl of Real Estate Team - Thank you Hal.

The other example was from our other loan officer - Cindy Fox of McLean Mortgage. Cindy took it upon herself to create an environment for success for the agents in our Keller Williams Reston office and for The Earl Team by hosting a weekly call evening.  What a great time for our buyer agents to call and follow up with customers and have a loan officer standing by to transfer the call to.  Sure beats sitting back waiting for the phone to ring.  Cindy even takes the time to prepare a meal some weeks or bring in fresh baked bread to feed the "calling troops".  Does she have to do this?  NO.

A loan officer, making themselves available outside of "normal office hours" to be supportive of our team and the office.  Again,a true win-win and we owe Cindy a Thank You.

I would love to hear what your loan officer is doing to grow your business and how they are giving before they ask - gimme.
